Roots

A plant system is made of different parts of a plant working together.Each plant part has its own function.The leaves,roots,stems,flowers,fruit and seed make up the flowering plant system.The roots holds the plant upright.The roots of a plant usually grow downwards into the ground.The function of the roots is to absorb minerals and water.They also ancho the plant in the soil and hole it firmly to the ground.Roots have roots hairs which are small hair-like extentions from the root.Root hairs increase the surface area of the roots and enable the roots to absorb more water.Water is used by the plant during phtosynthesis to make food.
